SwimWatch Pocket
Function
Software for PocketPC, with which you can record times and frequencies during training and competitions, just like you could do with an 'old-fashioned' stopwatch
However, the Pocket software includes features that you won't find in 'normal' stopwatches. For instance multiple clocks, to record multiple laptimes for multiple athletes. It is possible to compare data to previous races on the PocketPC, and to open SportsWatch files on your PC for evaluations.
The SportsWatch software for PocketPC is designed for Windows Mobile 2003 and is updated for Windows Mobile 5. Almost all PocketPC's have a screen in the size of 240 by 320 pixels. PocketPC's are equipped with a touchscreen, so you tap on the screen using a stylus (a thin pen) or your fingers. The SportsWatch software is controlled by two or more big buttons on the screen, which you can tap on using your thumbs or fingers.
Different variations
Some coaches work with large groups of swimmers, others work with just a few. That requires a different approach and different software. That's why The SwimWatch software is available in different versions or programs. Maybe one of these will suit you best, but of course you can use multiple programs!
Below you will find a brief description of each of these programs. You are free to download all software and see for yourself how this software can help you coach your swimmers better!

SwimWatch Pocket Lite
The ideal stopwatch for starters
Maybe you do not need fancy features, but you do want to record times and frequencies and store them to evaluate data in Excel. If that's the case, the 'Lite' version is a good start.
In 'Sprint' and in 'Race' mode you can record a time and a stroke frequency for each pool length. In 'Interval' mode you can record a broken swim (for example a 4x25). Just as you can in Race, you can compare data with the previous length right away. In Interval mode you can also check whether the swimmer counts correctly during the rest intervals, or you can count those seconds for your swimmer. In 'Repeat' mode you can time longer distances like 10x100 meters.
The 'Lite' version has limited features compared to the other SwimWatches, but you can do more with this program than with a 'normal' stopwatch!

SwimWatch Pocket Multi
The ideal stopwatch for club coaches
When you are coaching a group of swimmers, it is impossible to record all laptimes of all swimmers during training and during competitions. A lot of coaches use more than one stopwatch and still it can be very difficult or impossible. The 'Multi' version offers features can help you under these difficult circumstances. It enables you to record laptimes of a group of swimmers simultaniously, during training and competitions.
In most modes you can handle up to 5 swimmers, the Repeat mode supports 10 swimmers and in Multi mode you can record 20 swimmers simultaniously. They do not need to start with fixed intervals and they are even allowed to overtake one another. You can review the recorded and calculated data in Excel at a later time.
The 'Multi' version is perfect for the club coach, to record multiple swimmers!

SwimWatch Pocket Pro
The ideal stopwatch for professional coaches
The 'Pro' version is meant for coaches with a limited amount of swimmers, that want more data than times and stroke frequencies. This version shows the time, the number of strokes, the speed, the stroke frequency and the stroke length, for each length of a race.
Also, you can select the name of the swimmers for each race, the 'Lite' and the 'Multi' version do not have that feature. The names are saved in the data files together with the recorded and calculated data, all can be opened in Excel for evaluation. When recording sprints or races the personal bests and previous times are available, so you can coach your swimmers better, to achieve the optimal performance.
The 'Pro' version is perfect for the demanding coach and provides you with more data than any other stopwatch!

SwimWatch Pocket XL
Detailed race-analysis in just one small device
With the 'Pro' version that is shown above, you can record the time, the number of strokes, the speed, the stroke frequency and the stroke length, for each length of a race. When that is still not enough for you, you need the XL version.
This software divides the pool length in multiple sections. For each section the time and frequency is recorded. With all that data an analysis can be made, that shows the race in great detail. The analysis shows the swimming data, but also data of the start, the turns and the finish. The software shows the analysis in graphs or tables, at your command. Every recorded race is added to the archive. All races in the archive can be recalled and be compared to other races.
This software also handles data made by the SwimWatch Race Analyzer. So it can show analyses from races that have been recorded manually, als well as races that have been analysed using video equipment!

SwimWatch Pocket Test
Testing starts, turns and endurance with a PocketPC
A very powerful and time-saving is the Endurance mode. In that mode you can test 20 or more swimmers doing an endurance test. The coach can set a certain timespan (for example 20 or 30 minutes) or a certain distance (for example 1000 or 2000 meters). The whole group of swimmers can be tested by just one coach and one pocketpc!

SwimWatch Interface
Import recorded data from PocketPC into PC
SportsWatch Pocket programs do not only show data on screen, all that data is saved to files on the PocketPC. You can evaluate these files in Excel and to make that easier, an Excel application has been made: SportsWatch Interface.

Demo
Before you register the software, you can test the software free of charge. However, the software is restricted in it's use. In case of The SportsWatch Lite the program will be interrupted now and then prompting you to register.
Although these restrictions may bother you slightly, bear in mind that you are offered an opportunity to "try before you buy". The Demo mode should enable you to test the software and to determine how this software can help you to coach your athletes more efficiently.
